Every coach knows the moment: a client logs a session, and now you have to decide what happens next. Add weight? Hold? Deload? Multiply that by every client, every session, every week, and the admin side of coaching quietly becomes the whole job.
Scaling Review exists to take the mechanical part of that decision off your plate — without taking the decision away from you.
What it actually does
Here's what it actually does. When a client logs a workout, GainSync compares what they did against what you prescribed. Did they hit the top of the rep range on every set? Did they fall short? And how did it feel — the client rates each session from “way too easy” to “way too hard.”
From that, the engine draws a clear conclusion. Hit every rep target and didn't find it hard? A small increase makes sense — it suggests +2.5% on the bar. Missed the bottom of the range? It suggests pulling back by 5%. Missed reps and reported “way too hard”? That's the deload signal — less weight and roughly half the sets for the next session.
And when the signals conflict — hit every target but found it brutal, or missed reps but called it easy — it does nothing. Conflicting data stays on your desk, because that situation genuinely needs a coach's judgment.
A card, not a change
What you get is a card, not a change. The suggestion shows the current prescription, what the client logged, their feedback, and the proposed next step. You tap accept or reject. Nothing reaches the client until you do.
Why not automate it?
Why not just automate it? Because coaching is trust. Your client pays for your judgment — the context of their injury history, their competition calendar, the look on their face on a bad day. A rule-based engine can do the arithmetic; only you can weigh everything else.
There's a quieter benefit too: nothing falls through the cracks. At ten clients you can eyeball every log. At forty, the person who had a rough session three days ago is easy to miss. The review queue makes sure every logged session gets a decision — even when the decision is “leave it alone.”
It also keeps a record. Every suggestion, accepted or rejected, is tied to the session that produced it. Six weeks later, when a client asks why their squat went up, you can show them the trail — not a guess.
Suggestion, not autopilot. That single design choice is what makes the feature trustworthy enough to use on real clients — and fast enough to save you real hours.
